BBI Travel returns to Groningen Airport Eelde with flights to Ireland and adds Kerry as a new destination
Tour operator BBI Travel will once again operate direct flights from Groningen Airport Eelde to Ireland in 2027. Kerry Airport will be added as a new destination to the flight programme.

Two flights per week to Ireland
From 29 April to 9 September 2027, a charter flight will depart for Kerry Airport every Thursday. This new service complements the returning Monday flights to Ireland West Airport Knock, which will operate from 26 April to 6 September 2027. The flights will be operated by SkyAlps.
“The advantage of having two airports is that trips can start and end in different places. Travellers can, for example, fly to Ireland West Airport, explore the Wild Atlantic Way by rental car and fly directly back to Groningen from Kerry. You are also immediately in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland, along the Wild Atlantic Way, with Connemara National Park and attractions such as the spectacular Cliffs of Moher and the Ring of Kerry within easy reach.”
BBI Travel also operated a direct service from Eelde to Ireland West Airport Knock in summer 2025. Despite its popularity, the route could not be continued in summer 2026 due to a shortage of available aircraft. In 2027, the route will return and the offering will be expanded with the new service to Kerry Airport.
Complete tours with the convenience of a regional airport
BBI Travel offers complete holidays including flights, accommodation and transport. According to Van der Kooi, departing from Groningen Airport Eelde fits this travel concept well, with convenience and hassle-free travel at its core. Travellers can park free of charge within walking distance of the terminal and reach the gate within just a few minutes. The journey also remains straightforward and comfortable on arrival in Kerry and Knock, thanks to the compact layout of both airports.
“We are very pleased to add Kerry, and once again Knock, to our airport’s destination network. We have enjoyed a strong partnership with BBI Travel for many years and are proud of that. We look forward to welcoming SkyAlps to our airport and handling the flights with the same hospitality our passengers are used to.”
