Hydrogen takes centre stage at Groningen Airport Eelde during LIHYP Roadshow and 24H2 Challenge

As a partner in Project LIHYP, Linking Hydrogen Power Potentials, we collaborate with partners across the North Sea Region on pilot projects, regional roadmaps and a platform that connects hydrogen knowledge and initiatives. The roadshow focused on a key question: how do we move from plans to real-world applications? From local hydrogen projects to regional infrastructure, experiences from across the North Sea Region provide valuable input for the LIHYP roadmap and highlight the steps needed to move hydrogen projects forward.

Immediately afterwards, hydrogen was quite literally set in motion. With provincial ministers Marian van Dijken, Bart van Dekken and André van Schie overseeing the start, twenty teams set off from Groningen Airport Eelde for the 24H2 Challenge, a 24-hour journey through Europe in hydrogen-powered cars. The challenge demonstrates what is already possible with hydrogen mobility, while also highlighting the steps still needed to scale it up.
